Frequently Asked Questions
Do you attend wedding rehearsals?
In your workings with the staff at Opus 38, you'll realize that our presence at your wedding rehearsal is unnecessary. All the details required are covered ahead of time. We are most certainly available to play for your rehearsal dinner if you wish to book an additional time.
Can you play for a Catholic mass or a traditional Jewish ceremony?
ABSOLUTELY! We are experienced in most wedding ceremony formats, including, but not limited to Catholic masses and Jewish ceremonies. We have the most often used repertoire in our library.
Can you play outside?
We are delighted to play outside assuming that conditions are appropriate. Our instruments are not at their optimum performance capability in extreme temperatures; therefore we do not play below 68 degrees or above 90 degrees. We also require a place out of direct sunlight or, in the eventuality of rain, under cover.
What about your equipment and set up?
We'll arrive at your event 20-30 minutes prior to our starting time to set up and double check any final details with you. All we require from you is four armless chairs, a minimum space of 10' by 10' and, if less than optimal lighting for music reading, an outlet for our stand lights. We bring everything else required.
Will you accompany vocalists?
Many classically styled songs lend themselves quite nicely to string accompaniment. Many of the more popular/secular tunes are much better suited with recorded or keyboard accompaniment. In that eventuality, one of our musicians is able to accompany your vocalist if a piano is available.
